MEMORY COOKIES 
3 c. flour
3/4 tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp. ginger
1/2 c. soft shortening
3/4 c. packed brown sugar
1 egg
1/2 c. molasses
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 1/2 c. quick cooking oats

Mix first 3 ingredients, then add shortening, sugar, egg, molasses and buttermilk. Beat until well blended. Add oats, mix well. Roll out 1/4 inch thickness, cut any shapes. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
