ANN'S PASTRY 
6 tbsp. cold, unsalted butter, cut into sm. pieces
2 tbsp. solid shortening
1 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
2 tbsp. ice water

Cut butter and shortening into flour until mixture resembles coarse meal. Toss in water and mix until dough forms ball. Knead a few seconds. Refrigerate 1 hour before rolling out.
