OLD FASHIONED BREAD PUDDING 
2 c. scalded milk with 1/4 c. butter
4 c. coarse bread crumbs
1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 c. raisins
3/4 tsp. nutmeg

Pour milk over bread crumbs, add rest of the ingredients. Stir and put in baking dish. Bake until knife comes out clean. Dish up while warm and cover with the following sauce:

1 c. water
1 tbsp. cornstarch
1/3 c. sugar
1 tsp. butter
Juice of 1 lemon
1 egg, beaten

Put water in saucepan with butter. Mix rest and add to boiling water. Cook slowly until thick. Add remaining ingredients, cook until smooth. Serve warm on pudding.
