CANDIED SWEET POTATOES 
Several sweet potatoes
2 heaping tbsp. butter
Several sliced apples
2 c. sugar
1 c. water
1 c. crushed pineapple

Cook potatoes, peel and cut in slices. Peel apples, don't cook, slice. Boil together the sugar and water until syrupy. Stir in butter. Place the sliced potatoes and apples in baking dish, pour the syrup over potatoes and apples. Spread the crushed pineapple over the top. Bake an hour at 350 degrees. Baste occasionally.
