BAKED KIDNEY BEANS 
1 lb. kidney beans
1 tbsp. molasses
2 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. dry mustard
1 tsp. salt (optional)
1 piece salt pork (scored)
1 whole onion (scored)

Pick over and wash beans. Parboil for 15 minutes.

Place beans and water used to parboil in slow cooker or slow oven. Place all ingredients in pot; cover with boiling water. Cook all day; add water as needed.

Yumm - this is the old fashioned recipe that my mother in law makes except she does add a couple tablespoons of ketchup.
