2 c. sugar
1 1/4 c. oil
2 tsp. vanilla
2 beaten eggs
Juice of 1/2 lemon
1 tsp. salt
1 1/4 tsp. baking soda
3 c. flour
3 c. chopped apple (don't pack)
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 c. chopped pecans

Combine and beat sugar, oil, vanilla, eggs, lemon and salt. Mix together soda and flour and then add to first 6 ingredients. Then add apple cinnamon and pecans. Grease and flour tube pan. Pour in the cake mixture and bake 1 1/2 hours at 325 degrees.

ICING:

1 c. brown sugar
1/2 stick butter
1/4 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix and cook about 5 minutes. Stir and pour over cake while warm. (This is what makes it delicious.)
