MOLASSES CRINKLES COOKIES 
3/4 c. shortening
1 c. brown sugar
1 egg
1/2 c. molasses
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/4 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. allspice
1/2 c. pecans

Cream together shortening, brown sugar, egg, molasses, and vanilla. Sift together flour, soda, salt, cinnamon, and allspice; add to above mixture. Add pecans when flour mixture is added to creamed mixture.

Chill dough for an hour. Roll dough in small balls (walnut size). Dip tops of balls in water, then into granulated sugar. Place 2 inches apart on baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 or 15 minutes. Don't let them get too brown. They're chewy.
