MOLASSES CRINKLES COOKIES 
3/4 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 egg
2 1/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 c. molasses

Cream the shortening and mix sugar in gradually. Add the eggs, mix well. Sift dry ingredients. Add about 1/2 of the flour to the shortening and sugar. Add the molasses. Add the remaining flour. Mix well.

Shape into balls about 1 inch in diameter. Roll in granulated sugar and place on greased baking sheet. Bake in a very slow oven 275 degrees until firm, about 12 minutes. Yield: 6 dozen cookies.
