MOLASSES CRINKLES 
3/4 c. shortening
1 c. brown sugar
1 egg
1/4 c. molasses
2 1/4 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ginger

Mix thoroughly the shortening, brown sugar, egg, and molasses. Then sift together and stir in the rest of the ingredients. Chill the dough. Roll it into balls and dip the tops into sugar and place on a greased cookie sheet. Sprinkle on 2 or 3 drops of water for the "crinkled" effect. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes. Enjoy!
