LEMON TEA BREAD 
6 tbsp. butter
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. chopped walnuts
1 tbsp. grated lemon peel

TOPPING:

Juice from one lemon
1/2 c. sugar

Cream together butter and sugar. Add eggs and lemon peel and mix well. Sift flour, baking powder, and salt. Add to creamed mixture alternately with milk. Fold in chopped walnuts. Pour batter into a 3 x 6 x 3 tea loaf pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour. Remove and cool for several minutes. Mix lemon juice and sugar together and spoon over the tea bread a little at a time, allowing to dry in between. Let stand until cool before removing from pan.
