HUNGARIAN RICE 
2 1/2 c. water
1 c. rice
1 1/4 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. butter

Boil water. Add rice, salt and butter. Cover and simmer 20 minutes. Remove from heat and let stand until all water is absorbed.

5 slices bacon, cut in 1/2 inch pieces
1/2 med. head cabbage, cut into 1/2 inch strips
1 tbsp. sugar
1/4 tsp. paprika
2 tbsp. water
1/2 c. sour cream (optional)

While rice cooks fry bacon in a large skillet or electric fry pan, until crisp. Remove bacon from pan and drain on paper towel. Stir cabbage into bacon grease and cook 1 minute. Stir in sugar, paprika, 2 tablespoons water and a dash of salt. Cover and cook about 5 minutes. Add rice, bacon and sour cream (if desired). Heat through but don't boil or overcook.

Men love this recipe. I make it for buffet dinners and there's never any left.
