JIFFY CHOW MEIN 
1 1/2 lbs. ground beef
1 med. onion, chopped
1 1/2 c. celery, chopped
1 c. water
1 (16 oz.) can chop suey vegetables, drained
1/4 c. soy sauce
1/2 tsp. sugar
2 tbsp. water
2 tbsp. cornstarch
Cooked rice or chow mein noodles

Brown ground beef in frying pan; pour off drippings. Add onion, celery and 1 cup water. Cover tightly and simmer 15 minutes. Add the chop suey vegetables. Combine soy sauce, sugar, cornstarch and water. Add this to meat mixture. Continue cooking for 5 minutes. Serve with rice or noodles. May substitute chicken instead of beef. Makes 6 servings.
