INDONESIAN BEEF 
2 tbsp. oil
3 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
1 lb. boneless sirloin, cut in 2 x 1/4 inch strips
3/4 c. water
1/4 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. soy sauce
1 c. chopped green onions
1 tbsp. cornstarch
1/2 c. water

Heat oil in wok or large skillet until hot but not smoking. Saute garlic until light brown. Add beef and cook over medium heat until brown. Stir in 3/4 cup water, the soy sauce and brown sugar. Cook, uncovered, until meat is tender, about 5 minutes; then add green onions. Next combine cornstarch and 1/2 cup water. Stir into meat mixture, cook and stir until sauce thickens, about 1 minute. Serve with mashed potatoes and vegetable.
