4 c. sugar
4 c. water

Boil together 10 minutes. Cool. Add:

3/4 c. instant coffee
1 vanilla bean, crushed or 4 tsp. vanilla
1 fifth vodka or 1 1/2 pts. grain alcohol

Pour into bottles and let stand 3 weeks before using. Makes great flavor for cakes, etc., and costs lots less than the imported bought kind.
