KANSAS EGGNOG | |
9 lg. egg yolks and whites, separated 2 c. sugar Nutmeg 2 c. bourbon or Scotch 1 qt. milk 1 qt. whipping cream In a large bowl beat yolks with a mixer at high speed until pale and creamy. Gradually add sugar, beating constantly until mixture is thick and pale. Add 1/8 tsp. nutmeg. Pour in whiskey, beating constantly. (You may leave the whiskey out and it is just as good.) In a separate bowl beat egg whites until soft peaks hold when beater is lifted. Beat in milk, add to yolk mix, beating constantly at high speed. Cover and chill until shortly before serving. Whip cream until peaks form. (This takes a long time.) Stir into egg mix. Sprinkle with nutmeg. Makes 40 1/2 cup servings. 186 calories per cup. |
