DROP DOUGHNUTS 
2 eggs
1/2 c. sugar
1 tbsp. melted shortening
1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
3 1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/8 tsp. salt
Fat for deep frying
Confectioners' sugar

In mixing bowl, beat eggs until light. Beat in sugar, shortening, milk and vanilla. Into another mixing bowl sift together dry ingredients. Stir into egg mixture to make a soft dough.

Drop by teaspoon into deep fat heated to 365 degrees. Fry until doughnuts turn themselves over and are golden brown on all sides. Drain on absorbent paper. Dust with confectioners' sugar before serving.
