FIG JAM CAKE 
2 1/2 c. brown sugar
4 c. flour
2 c. jam
3 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. nutmeg
15 oz. raisins
figs and dates as desired
2 c. sour milk
3/4 c. butter
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. cloves
3 large eggs
1 c. nuts, crushed

Mix all ingredients together well except jam. Lastly, gently stir in the 2 cups of jam. Pour into greased and floured 9-inch round cake pans.

Bake in a preheated 325°F oven for 35-40 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.

If desired, serve with caramel icing.
