BISCOTTI (ITALIAN COOKIES) 
12 eggs
1 c. sugar
1 c. shortening, melted
2 tsp. baking powder
3 tsp. vanilla
Enough flour to stiffen dough

Mix all ingredients and drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees until done. Cool and ice with boiled icing.

BOILED ICING:

1 egg white
1/2 c. water
1 c. sugar

Boil sugar and water to soft ball thickness, remove from heat and stir mixture into beaten egg whites. Spread on cookies and set them to dry on wax paper.
