BUTTERMILK POUND CAKE 
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. Crisco shortening
2 c. sugar
3 eggs
1 c. buttermilk
2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time. Combine dry ingredients. Add to creamed mixture, alternating with buttermilk. Add vanilla; bake at 350 degrees for 55 minutes.
