OATMEAL MUSHROOM PATTIES 
1 sm. potato, grated
1 c. oatmeal, dry
2 eggs (substitute)

Blend together, allowing oats to absorb moisture. 1 env. onion soup mix 2 tbsp. oil 1/2 tsp. sweet basil

Drain mushrooms, saving liquid. Mix with oat mixture and shape into patties. Fry in Pam until brown. Place in casserole.

GRAVY:

1 (10 oz.) can mushroom soup
Mushroom liquid and add water to make 1/2 c.
1 tbsp. soy sauce

Mix gravy and cover patties. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.

This is excellent. The texture is very good. I did not use the canned mushrooms, however. I grated 2 white button mushrooms in the patties. And, I mixed 1/2 c water with the soup and tablespoon of soy sauce. I also was out of the Lipton onion soup dry mix. So, I used 1/2 envelope of the Lipton's Beef Onion soup dry mix. We loved this recipe and will use it again. The taste is wonderful and it reminds us very much of swiss steak. Thanks for sharing this!!
