COOKED COLE SLAW 
3 tbsp. sugar
3 tbsp. vinegar
3 tbsp. butter
1 egg
Slightly less than 1 c. milk
Shredded cabbage

Beat egg in one cup measuring cup. Fill rest of cup with milk. Mix well. In saucepan mix egg, milk, sugar, vinegar and butter. Cook on high heat until thick. Remove from heat and chill well. Pour over shredded cabbage. (This is an old country recipe handed down from my great-grandmother from Germany.) Sweet and Low can be used instead of sugar.
