FRIED RICE 
Use a wok or electric fry pan
1 lb. bacon, cut in thin strips (while partially frozen works best)

Brown bacon and drain off most of the fat. Add minced fresh garlic about 1 tablespoons, also 1 teaspoon ginger powder, mix well with bacon. Grate 4 or 5 carrots, thin slice 4 or 5 stalks of celery add these to bacon and fry, cut cabbage 1/4 head into very fine pieces. Place in wok. Add 1 chopped onion. Stir fry all these until cooked. Add 4 or 5 cups of cooked rice pour in soy sauce and stir fry together breaking up any balls of rice. Make sure all rice if broken up and free of clumps. Add a bit of pepper. If needed serve with soy sauce. This is one of our favorite things that our mom makes.
