FRIED APPLE PIES 
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder

Combine. Rub in 1/2 cup shortening. Add enough milk to make stiff pastry dough. Cook dried apples until tender. Mash with potato masher. Sweeten to taste. Add 1 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (more or less) as desired.

Roll dough out to medium thin thickness. Use a saucer to cut rounds of dough. Place dried apples on half of dough. Moisten edge with water. Fold over and seal. Fry in heavy skillet in small amount of shortening over very low heat until dough is well done and delicately browned.
