JAM CAKE 
2 c. sugar
1 c. jam
3/4 c. lard
1 tsp. baking soda dissolved in 1 c. buttermilk
2 tsp. baking powder
5 eggs, well beaten
3 c. plain flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. allspice
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 c. raisins
1 c. nuts, chopped
2 tbsp. cocoa

Mix and cook in 3 or 4 layers; cool.

ICING:

1/2 lb. butter
2 c. sugar creamed in 7 egg yolks
1 c. grated coconut
1 box raisins
1 1/2 c. nuts, chopped fine
1 can crushed pineapple

Cook slowly in a double boiler, stirring frequently. Cook until thick and spread on cake.
