SHORE BOIL | |
6 med. potatoes (unskinned), scrub 6 carrots (unskinned), scrub 6 onions, peeled 1/2 c. salt Drawn butter (oleo) 4 lb. fresh fish steaks (white) Bring 5 quarts of water to boil. Add salt slowly. Boil 10 minutes. Place a basket containing all vegetables in water. Boil 10 minutes. Keep rolling boil. Add fish. Boil 12-15 minutes or until fish flakes easily with fork. Serve with hot drawn butter over entire serving or dip into individual butter bowls. (Garlic bread and cole slaw are nice complements.) A Great Lakes old time tradition! (Turn fish into lobster!) Feeds 6. |
