CHOCOLATE CARAMEL LAYER BAR 
1 German chocolate cake mix
1/2 c. butter, melted
1/3 c. evaporated milk
1 bag Kraft caramels
1/3 c. chocolate chips
1 c. chopped nuts, if desired

Mix first 3 ingredients and put 1/2 of the mixture into 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake 6 minutes at 350 degrees. Melt caramels with milk. Spread chips over bottom layer. Then spread caramel mixture over chips.

Sprinkle with nuts. Crumble rest of cake mixture over top and bake at 350 degrees for 15 to 18 minutes. Cool 30 minutes before cutting.
