PETE'S ITALIAN RICE | |
1/2 lb. shrimp, peeled 1 lb. Italian bulk sausage (hot or mild) 1/2 c. chopped cooked ham 1 med. onion, chopped 1 green pepper, chopped 1 clove garlic, minced 1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce 2 1/2 c. water 1 c. uncooked white rice Crushed red pepper to taste Salt to taste Brown sausage in skillet. Add ham, onion, green peppers and garlic. Cook, stirring occasionally until vegetables are tender. Pour off fat. Add tomato sauce and water. Bring to boil, stir in rice and shrimp. Simmer, covered, 20-25 minutes or until rice is tender. Add red pepper and salt, if desired. Serves 6. |
