PUMPKIN COOKIES 
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
3/4 c. shortening
3 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. nutmeg
2 tsp. baking soda
3 tbsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ginger
2 c. pumpkin

Cream shortening with both sugars. Sift flour, baking powder, nutmeg, soda, cinnamon, and ginger together. Add to shortening mixture. Add pumpkin, drop on cookie sheet. Bake 10 minutes in 400 degree oven. Cool.

ICING FOR PUMPKIN COOKIES:

10 tbsp. brown sugar
6 tbsp. cream
4 tbsp. butter
2 tbsp. vanilla
Dash of salt
Powdered sugar

Heat above to boiling and boil 5 minutes. Remove from heat. Cool. Add vanilla, salt and enough powdered sugar to thicken. Spread on cool cookies.
