SUNDAY ROAST | |
3-4 lb. bottom round roast beef 1 lg. onion Salt Pepper 1 1/2 c. water Heat, on top of stove, a heavy Dutch oven roaster. When very hot, brown meat on both sides, turn heat off and salt and pepper meat; cut up onion on top of meat. Add 1 1/2 cups water. Cover. Bake in oven at 325 degrees for 2 to 2 1/2 hours. Remove meat and make gravy from liquid in roaster with flour and water mixture. Heat to boiling, adding salt and pepper to taste and water if too thick. Serve with plain cooked rice/gravy and potato salad. Delicious. |
