HEAVENLY ONIONS 
2 to 3 lg. white onions, sliced & cut in half
1/2 lb. fresh or canned mushrooms
1/2 lb. shredded Swiss cheese
10 or more pieces French bread, buttered on both sides
1/2 c. milk
1 can cream of mushroom soup
3 tsp. soy sauce

Saute onions and mushrooms in butter and put in greased 9 x 13 pan. Layer Swiss cheese over this. Place bread slice over cheese. Mix soup, milk, soy sauce, and pour over all. Make a day ahead and refrigerate. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes uncovered.
