DEATH BY CHOCOLATE COOKIES 
2 (8 oz.) pkg. sq. semi-sweet baking chocolate
3/4 c. packed brown sugar
1/4 c. butter
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. baking powder
2 c. chopped nuts

Preheat oven to 350°F. Coarsely chop 8 ounces chocolate squares and set aside. Microwave the remaining 8 ounces chocolate squares on High for 1 to 2 minutes; stir until all is melted. Add sugar, butter, eggs and vanilla. Mix in the flour, baking powder and coarsely chopped chocolate squares and chopped nuts. Drop by 1/4 cupfuls onto an ungreased cookie sheet and bake 12 to 13 minutes or until cookies are puffed. Let cool 1 minute, then transfer to a wire rack to cool.

Makes 1 1/2 dozen.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
