APPLE CAKE 
1/2 c. butter
1 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. evaporated milk
2 tsp. vanilla

CAKE:

1 c. oil
2 c. sugar
2 eggs
3 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. vanilla
3 c. sliced apples
1 c. nuts

Make frosting first. Mix all ingredients together and bring to a boil; cool. Add vanilla and set aside.

Cake: Mix oil, eggs, sugar, and vanilla. Sift dry ingredients and add to mixture. Fold in apples and nuts. Pour into 9 x 13 inch greased pan. Place in cold oven. Set oven at 325 degrees. Bake 45 minutes. Frost immediately, stirring frosting. Frosting will be runny and cake will settle.
