MRS. T.'S CHOCOLATE POUND CAKE 
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. butter
3 c. sugar
5 eggs
1 c. sweet milk
3 c. plain flour
4 tbsp. cocoa
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tbsp. vanilla

Cream sugar and butter. Add eggs, one at a time. Sift dry ingredients together. Add alternately with milk to butter and sugar mixture. Add vanilla.

Bake 1 hour and 20 minutes at 325 degrees.

GLAZE:

2 c. sugar
3 tbsp. cocoa
2 tbsp. corn syrup
2/3 c. cream (or milk)

Cook until soft ball stage. Add 1 stick butter and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Cool. Beat and pour over cake.
