GERMAN APPLE CAKE | |
2 c. sugar 2 c. flour 2 tsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. baking soda 3 eggs 4 c. apple, peeled and chopped 2 c. chopped walnuts 1 c. salad oil 1 tsp. vanilla Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour a 9 x 13 inch cake pan. Stir together all dry ingredients. Stir in apples and nuts. Beat eggs, oil and vanilla. Pour into dry ingredients and stir just enough to combine thoroughly. Bake for 45-60 minutes until done. Cool, then ice. ICING: 1 tsp. vanilla 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese 3 tbsp. butter, melted 1 1/2 c. powdered sugar Beat together cream cheese, vanilla and butter. Gradually add powdered sugar. Will be smooth and creamy. Spread on cooled cake. |
