BANANA NUT LOAF 
1 c. sugar
1 c. mashed bananas
2 tbsp. shortening
1 egg
3/4 c. milk
3 c. sifted flour
4 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
3/4 c. chopped nuts

Mix thoroughly sugar, shortening and eggs, stir in milk. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt and blend in nuts, also. Put in well greased 9 x 5 x 3 inch loaf pan. Let stand 20 minutes before baking. Bake until toothpick comes out clean in 350 degree oven (about 70 minutes).
