HOT GERMAN POTATO SALAD 
6 slices bacon
3/4 c. chopped onion
2 tbsp. flour
1-2 tbsp. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. salt
Dash of pepper
3/4 c. water
1/3 c. vinegar
6 boiled potatoes with jackets on, then slice when cool

Fry bacon slowly in skillet, then drain on paper towel. Saute chopped onion in bacon fat until golden brown. Blend in flour, sugar, salt, and pepper.

Cook over low heat, stirring until smooth and bubbly. Remove from heat. Stir in water and vinegar. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Boil 1 minute. Stir in carefully the potatoes and the crumbled bits of bacon. Remove from heat; cover and let stand until ready to serve.
