OATMEAL CAKE 
1 c. Quick Quaker oats
1 1/2 c. boiling water
1/2 c. butter
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
2 well beaten eggs
1 1/2 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Topping:

1/3 c. butter, melted
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. milk or Milnot
1 c. coconut
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1 tsp. vanilla (optional)

Pour hot water over oats; let stand. Cream butter and sugars in separate bowl. Add remaining ingredients to butter/sugar mixture. Finally, add oat mixture. Pour into 9 x 13-inch pan.

Bake 35 minutes at 350°F.

Mix and heat topping. Pour over hot cake. Return cake with topping to oven and broil a short time until topping begins to turn brown.
