SALLY'S OATMEAL CAKE 
1 1/4 c. boiling water
1 c. quick rolled oats
1 stick butter
1 1/3 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 1/2 c. granulated sugar
2 eggs

TOPPING:

6 tbsp. butter
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 c. evaporated milk
1 c. coconut
1 c. chopped pecans

Combine the boiling water, oats and butter and let stand for 20 minutes; add the remaining ingredients. Pour into greased 9x13 inch cake pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes or until tester inserted in center comes out clean.

Spread topping on cake as soon as removed from oven. Place cake under broiler until topping lightly browns.
