BUNNY BREAD | |
5-6 c. flour 2 pkgs. yeast (Rapid Rise) 3 tbsp. sugar 2 tsp. salt 1 c. water 2/3 c. milk 3 tbsp. butter 1 egg 1. Mix 3 cups flour, yeast, sugar and salt in large bowl. 2. Heat milk, water and butter to 125 degrees. 3. Stir in yeast mixture. 4. Stir in egg. 5. Stir in enough remaining flour to make dough easy to handle. 6. Turn onto a floured board. 7. Knead until smooth and elastic. 8. Cover and let rest 10 minutes. 9. Lightly grease 2 cookie sheets. 10. Divide dough into 4 parts. 11. For each bunny divide 1 part into halves. 12. Shape 1/2 into flattened round for body. 13. Place on cookie sheet. 14. Shape a walnut size piece of remaining 1/2 into ball. 15. Make deep indentation into body for tail. 16. Press into body and flatten. 17. Divide remaining dough into 1/2. 18. Shape 1 half into flattened round for head. Place next to body. 19. Shape rest into ears and feet. 20. Place on cookie sheet. 21. Press into body and flatten. 22. Cover and let rest 15 to 20 minutes. 23. Bake 37 to 400 degrees until brown, 15 to 20 minutes. Makes 4 bunnies. Decorate when cool. |
