2 c. sugar
1/2 c. light corn syrup
1/2 c. water
1/4 tsp. salt
2 egg whites, stiffly beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. finely chopped pecans

Stir first 4 ingredients until dissolved; boil until medium ball stage. Pour 1/3 mixture over beaten egg whites, beating constantly. Cook remaining syrup to very hard ball; beat syrup in candy mixture and continue beating. When mixture holds its shape, add vanilla and pecans. Drop from teaspoon on greased cookie sheet. Makes about 35 pieces.
