GRANDMA'S APPLE FRITTERS | |
1 egg, beaten 3/4 c. milk 1 tbsp. sugar 1/2 tsp. salt 1 c. all-purpose flour 1 tsp. baking powder 4 tart apples 1/2 c. vegetable oil for frying Combine egg and milk in a bowl. Stir in sugar and salt. Add flour and baking powder, sifted together. Beat to form batter. Pare and core apples. Cut each one into 4 or 5 rings. Dip in batter. Fry in hot oil in skillet, burning over. Remove when apples are tender, about 5 minutes. |
