GRANDMA'S RHUBARB (OR APPLE)
CRUNCH
 
1 c. all-purpose flour
3/4 c. oatmeal
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. melted shortening
1 tsp. cinnamon

Mix above until crumbly.

1 c. sugar
1 c. hot water
2 tbsp. cornstarch
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tbsp. cinnamon
4 c. diced rhubarb (or apple)

Cook until thick and clear.

Put half of crumbly mixture into 9 x 9 inch pan - pour in sauce mixture and sprinkle the remaining crumb mixture over the top. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Let cool - serve alone or with whip cream or ice cream.
