CHESS PIES 
1/2 lb. butter
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 c. raisins, add more if desired
2 c. nuts

Cream slightly beaten eggs and sugar and melted butter, chopped nuts and raisins.

PIE SHELL:

2 1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. shortening
2/3 c. milk

Sift flour and add baking powder. Cut in shortening. Add vanilla to milk and add to flour mixture. Roll thin and cut with 1 pound coffee can. Bake 15 minutes in a 450 degree oven.
