ALMOND ICE BOX COOKIES 
1 c. butter
2 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 3/4 c. flour
1/4 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 c. coarsely ground blanched almonds

Cream butter, adding sugar gradually. Add eggs and vanilla. Mix and sift dry ingredients. Add to first mixture. Stir in nuts. Form into 2 rolls and place in refrigerator overnight. Slice the number of cookies desired to bake, as the dough will keep in refrigerator. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-15 minutes. makes 4-5 dozen cookies.
