ROLLED OATS ICE BOX COOKIES 
1 c. light brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
1 c. Crisco or butter
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
3 c. Mother's Oats, quick cooking
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Cream together sugar and shortening in large bowl. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Add remaining dry ingredients and blend into dough.

Roll in wax paper, forming 2-3 inch diameter log. Refrigerate overnight. Using sharp knife, slice onto cookie sheet and bake at 375 degrees for 10-12 minutes. Yields 4 dozen cookies.
