BAKED DONUTS
1 c. flour
1/2 c. sugar
1 tbsp. baking powder
1 egg or 1/4 c. Egg Beaters
1/2 c. milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tbsp. oil or 1/2 c. applesauce

Stir together dry ingredients. Add egg, milk and vanilla; beat for 1 minute with an electric mixer. Add oil/applesauce and mix for another minute. Best if using the black donut pans; spray with Pam. Pour batter into each mold about 1/2 full.

Bake in a preheated 400°F oven for approximately 10 minutes or until golden. Cool on rack.

To make the donuts crisper, sprinkle sugar into each mold before baking. When cooled, place donuts in a paper bag filled with powdered sugar and shake until coated.

Makes about a dozen large donuts; more if using the small donut pan.
