FRENCH APPLESAUCE CAKE 
2 c. flour
1 to 1 1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cloves
3 tbsp. cocoa
1 tbsp. cornstarch
1/2 c. oil
2 c. applesauce
1 c. nuts, optional
1 c. raisins, optional

Combine first 9 ingredients in large bowl. Heat applesauce in oil and add to dry ingredients; if desired add nuts and raisins. Mix thoroughly. Pour into tube pan whish has been greased and floured. Bake 1 hour at 325 degrees F.
