LENTIL SOUP 
1 pkg. lentils
3 lg. potatoes cut in pieces
1 onion cut in pieces
3 ribs celery cut in pieces
Ham bone or pieces of cooked ham
Dash garlic salt

Wash and drain lentils and pick over to remove bad ones. Place in large pot, cover with water and cook until comes to a boil. Add cut up potatoes, onions, celery, ham and dash of garlic salt. Cook for 1 hour. Serve with homemade baking powder biscuits.

To make cream of lentil, saute flour in lard until light brown and add milk. Add mixture to soup. Very good on cool days.
