JOAN'S CHOCOLATE COVERED
CHERRIES
 
3 tbsp. butter
3 tbsp. white Karo
1/4 tsp. salt
2 c. powdered sugar or more
vanilla or almond flavoring
maraschino cherries (with stems)
chocolate chips or dipping chocolate, melted

Mix all ingredients together and knead until smooth. You may need to use more powdered sugar. Dough should be pliable but not sticky. If too sticky, chill for a short time.

Wrap around maraschino cherry completely. Roll in palms of hands to make round. Put on cookie sheet covered with plastic. Freeze. Dip cherries in melted chocolate. Put on plastic wrap to set up and dry. Store in covered container. Store for 2 weeks for juice to form in chocolate shell.
