FROSTED FRUIT BARS 
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1/4 c. orange, lemon or pineapple juice
1 tbsp. grated orange rind
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. seedless raisins
1 c. mixed candied fruit
1/2 c. nuts, chopped

GLAZE:

1 c. confectioners' sugar
Lemon juice

Mix sugar, shortening, egg and grated orange rind. Stir in juice. Sift flour, soda and salt. Add to creamed mixture. Mix in with the hands the raisins, candied fruit and nuts. Pour into greased 9x13 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees until done.

While warm, make glaze of 1 cup confectioners' sugar and enough lemon juice to make it spreading consistency.
